I don't doubt it. However the quality of Britain's social services have little to do with military adventurism, but even if they did, they of a higher standard than the equivalent in America.
Post Suez, our foreign policy has been pretty tightly tied to that of the US. It's the US which gives our leaders the dangerous delusion that they are punching above their weight. Our army/navy/air force are a joke.
