For a couple years on several different lists Doug kept demanding that "leninists" provide him a scenario for revolution, and more or less took the absence of such a scenario to be a confession of the impossibility of revolution. That despite the fact that there have been quite a few revolutions or near revolutions in nations with modern armies and state structure in the last 50 years.

The Multitude, on the other hand, seems to exist only in the writings of Negri and his folowers. And yet we are seemingly to take on faith that this metaphysical entity will in some wholly unknown way transform the world in the next 50 years. (If it takes much longer there won't be much of a world left to transform.)
