Some (Possibly) Clarifying Questions , was Re: Who is a capitalist

From: "John K. Taber" <jktaber at tacni.net>

Well for me, things are getting confusing. Can there be capitalism without capitalists? My friend in Houston I understand. But we're getting on to something else.

Can I say that ownership of capital is now largely institutionalized?

CB: Yes, it is institutionalized, but "institutions" are people, groups of people, not material objects or buildings or something non-human. To say ownership of capital is institutionalized does not contradict the idea that a relatively small group of people control the institutions.
