Britain's rail meltdown

Depends on what you mean by efficient. How efficient is auto travel with
it's publicly subsidized roads, traffic courts, etc. How many people would
pay to drive if they had to pay the actual costs of operating a car? Rail
can be efficient and not profitable at the same time.
