Hehhhhhhhhhhhh!
At the last meeting of the San Francisco Progressive Alliance, someone slipped and called Giulana Milanese, who is one of the best organizers I've ever known (she was in CPUSA till '91, joined CoC/CCDS then, now an organizer with the Ca. Nurses Assoc. along with folks like Mike Lighty of DSA and some other CoC folks I'm blanking on their names ), Giulani, after the ex-Mayor NYC. We all had a great laugh. She said, "I'll get you for that!" Michael Pugliese P.S. See a book on Italian anti-fascist, Carlo Rosselli by another Pugliese that teaches at Hofstra. No relation, I wrote him. All the Pugliese's back in Pittsburgh, my relatives, members of USW or low level mafiosi types (numbers runners, casino owner in Reno), George Wallace voters in '68 and "72. My Mother had ferocious arguments with them back then over the War and Civil Rights.
