From Bob Jessop who has written many books elaborating the neo-marxist theories of the Capitalist State developed in the 70's and after. (Instumentalist, Structuralist, "capital-Logic/"State-derivation" [really abstruse Germans, see, "The State and capital: A Marxist Debate, " edited by Sol Piccioto, Univ. of Texas Press.)

"The Ruling Class Does Note Rule, " by Fred Block, Socialist Revolution, 1978 or so.

"Recent Developments In the Marxist Theory of the State, " by Eric Olin Wright and two other characters whose names escape me at the moment. Monthly Review, 1975 or so.

"Kapitalistate: Working papers on the Capitalist State, " put out by a set of collectives around Jim O'Connor, mid-70's to mid-80's.

"the State and Political theory, " by Martin carnoy.

And Chaz, reminder, A.J. Polan book on the weaknesses of Lenin's political theory. I won;t summarize for you, get thee to the Wayne State Univ. library some day ;-) Michael Pugliese, tired of marxists treating texts like the Xtian Right uses the Bible...
