Yeah. We're really not so far away from lynch-mob mentality. Any notion that we are as the least among us...has been completely lost in this culture. And, I agree with Chuck G., with the elimination of the bill of rights and any notion of the importance of the rule of law, we are entering dangerous territory. True, it's not just 9/11, it has been in the making since the eigthies, but it's for real.
Bourgeois democracy is not the same as fascism. The fact that they have to pretend to be fair, that there was a Miranda warning, habeas corpus, etc., is important. Now "law" means nothing more than "might makes right." This is reason to worry.
