Seeing stuff like this on French TV is what "l'exception culturelle" is about:

The commercial starts with a dumpy housemaid furiously cleaning, polishing, scrubbing, and vacuuming what looks like a hotel suite. Then she suddenly stops in front of a painting, and after a brief moment of contemplation, plucks a feather from her duster. As the camera tracks sideways, we discover that she's looking at Courbet's "L'origine du monde", which represents the pubis of a reclining woman, which she's gently caressing with the feather. The commercial is for Cavaillès intimate hygiene lotion.
