It would be a piece of cake to recruit them if anyone wanted to. Just listen to college stations, find shows you really like, and offer the kids that do them a show on BAI when they graduate. And once you convinced people that such shows were possible, it would be a cinch to recruit more directly, asking for demo tapes and trying out promising recruits in the overnight slots. Kids, remember, don't need to sleep.

And clearly nowadays, if they want excited kids that care about politics, they should get them some of those anarchists.

But the key is that a fair-size quantity of shows and slots have to be regularly available to turn over. When all shows are held like property by a noblesse d'antenne, such a flow of alternative volunteer liveliness is precluded.
