i'm not sure it's quite this simple, michael. from what i gather about
levine, he wants to get what he considers "the word" out and doesn't care
how he does it, who publishes it, etc. a read of his essay in Kristina
Borjesson's (sp?) book Into the Buzz Saw makes his motives regarding his
publicity problem a bit clearer, i believe. not saying i agree with
levine; but his approach makes sense. he's one of several whistle blowers
the great mass media completely turns its back on. in his place, i'd
probably do the same thing.

as i understand it, the main thrust of his message is that the CIA, FBI, et
al are so corrupt at the top that there's no hope of them providing any
effective antiTerrorism to protect us citizens of the US as these agencies
are currently constituted. the CIA has been interfering with DEA drug
busts for years to protect "assets" like noriega, for example. also,
levine is very clear and accurate regarding CIA drug smuggling into the
US. if you know anyone with a drug problem (present or past), which most
of us do, i'll lay you 10000 to one his/her drugs were smuggled into the US
by the CIA, going way back to the vietnam era.

it's refreshing to hear an experience DEA agent, and legal expert, call the
CIA the Cocaine Importing Agency, the Criminally Inept Agency, etc. the
american public are paying the freight for this criminal enterprise and
deserve an accounting.
