Cambodia may compromise with UN on Khmer Rouge trial

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen signalled for the first time on Tuesday that he was prepared to compromise with the United Nations in efforts to try surviving leaders of the previous Khmer Rouge regime.
Hun Sen told journalists that legislation promulgated in August last year to put leaders of the ultra-Maoist regime in the dock for genocide and crimes against humanity could be amended if an agreement was reached with the United Nations.
