I wish American leftists would concentrate on their/our absolute and
total helplessness-inability to a do anything at all to stop this
country's interference in the process of cubans - and many other
non-socialist nations -making their own way, and spend less on advising
what true-real socialism - something they/we have no experience at
except for theorizing - should be.

as to why this nation hasn't totally destroyed cuba, it may be partly
because the tiny island doesn't represent a big enough threat to do
anything but attempt slow strangling...especially knowing that the best
the american left can do to stop that strangling is to advise cubans to
re-shape their environment so that it is more like ours, and they can
feed their dogs and cats as well as we feed ours...
