Cheney makes surprise visit to Atlanta

Vice President Dick Cheney made a surprise visit to Atlanta today to meet with officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Decatur.
His visit was not announced in advance and his schedule for the rest of the day was not known. Cheney's office has declined to release any details about his visit.
Traffic was jammed on streets in the area of the CDC campus just north of Emory University.
Clifton Road was blocked off at Houston Mill Road, and traffic was thick on Houston Mill and Lavista roads.
Police offcers were stationed at every intersection along Briarcliff Road.
Southbound traffic on Briarcliff was flowing, but northbound traffic was very heavy.
