I wouldn't be surprised if you are both right, but this week's Weekly Standard - a rightwing rag - has an article that says Lula is the next Castro/Chavez. Unfortuately, it's not online. The writer works himself into hysterics and says that Lula would support "terrorists" throughout the continent. (BTW, the cover has a Nast cartoon of a fat cat capitalist and I forget the headline but it reminded me covers done for the Nation, Z mag, etc.)
