I caught as few seconds of Lou Dobbs last night as I was planning an Italian honeymoon......... Well, he asks his guest, a women from UBS Whatever-it-is-called-now about the market and she implies something about how investors are wrongly running scared because fundamentals are good. Dobbs, in a moment I will not soon forget, says something like, "well, maybe the investors are right not to be confident in the market given the problems with corporate governance and reporting issues." To which she says, "Unfortunately, the market runs on investor confidence." At that point I turned the channel back to the PBS pledge drive showing arieal views of Italy.
