Before his head was severed, Pearl criticizes U.S. mideast policy - the presence in Afghanistan, support of corrupt and dictatorial Arab regimes, and repeated use of the Security Council to justify the slaughter of children. Has that part been reported before? I didn't see the excerpt that CBS ran. Do people claim this was coerced, or is that what he really thought? His work for the Journal was often very good, so he could well have been sincere.
