Russian communist leader regards Moscow riots as "provocation" RIA Novosti

Moscow, 10 June, correspondent Irina Kolgina: Russian Communist Party leader Gennadiy Zyuganov believes that the mass riots in Moscow [on 9 June] were an action aimed at pushing the bill on political extremism through the State Duma. Zyuganov said this on Monday [10 June], commenting on the riots which broke out in Moscow after the Russia-Japan soccer match.

"This was a well-planned provocation in a series of events beginning with skinheads who were expected to commit disturbances during the demonstrations on 1 and 9 May," Zyuganov said. Riots were prevented at that time with help of special services, but this Sunday "all this expressed itself in acts of vandalism in places which were to be protected by the presidential guard".

The government should draw a conclusion from the things that happened in order to "take a maximum care of the rising generation and involve them in science, culture and sports," Zyuganov said...
