I've been saving just about all the news articles I post here and on pen-l. I'm fairly sure others do too. So if they have to be purged from the archives there's probably enough redundancy built up by participants to make retrieval requests fairly easy. I post the pieces because not everyone on the list can access all the links alone.

It seems to me one can no more own knowledge and information than one can own the division of labor.
