In a discussion of alienation within productive activity in the Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts Marx makes the following comment:
"The worker therefore feels himself at home only during his leisure, whereas at work he feels homeless."
The modern cult of leisure is also a source of self-alienation, based as it is on the worker's self-alienation in the workplace.
