Hello Alexandre. Please more news from your area. BTW, is the new low-cost airline a Brazilian company or foriegn competition?

-This new Brazilian airline is a Brazilian company. It´s owned by the boss -of bus transportation companies. This company tries to copy the business -methods of Jet Blue. It has only one kind of plane (737-700, althought it -bought some 737-800´s which are essentally the same plane), doesn´t offer -meals in their flights (only soft drinks and cereal bars, Brazilian airlines, -are known by offering good meals and alcoholic beverages even in short -flights), and flights only to cities with high demand for flights. -However, its tariffs are very low (US$20,00 for a 40 minutes flight, for -instance) and I think they may represent dumping. If you understand -Portuguese or have a good translation program, try to look at their website -at http://www.voegol.com.br/index_ie.htm -This is not the only low fare company in Brazil. Two other airlines -use older 727´s in flights to the Northeast Region (there are many people -from the poorer Northeast living in the richer states of São Paulo and -Rio de Janeiro, and they prefer to pay US$100,00 for a 2,5 hour low fare -flight than US$50,00 for a 48h bus trip, plus the meals, this travel -being in poorly kept roads, not mentioning the risks of robbery of passanger -bus, which is fairly common in some northeast roads). However those -companies are small and their growth capacity is severely limited by -the high operational costs of 727´s.
