Pro - of course, despite its shortcomings and  limitations.  It is one of 
the few _institutionalized_ venues for _real_ citizen participation in 
governance and administration of justice.

BTW, what are the rationalizations err.... legal grounds for the 
functionaries of the judicial apparatus to nullify a jury verdict?
