MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin's rating remains high. Seventy-five percent of the Russians surveyed by the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research on June 14-17 said they approve of Putin's performance as president and 20% said they do not approve of his work. The poll totaled 1,600 people across Russia.
These figures have not changed since May.
Forty-four percent of the respondents said they like the performance of Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and forty percent said they do not like it (in May it was 42% and 38% respectively).
Thirty-nine percent of the respondents said they like the performance of the government and the same percentage said they do not like it (in May it was 35% and 53% respectively).
Putin still tops the confidence rating of Russian politicians. When asked to name the politicians whom they trust most, forty-six percent of the respondents named Putin (against 43% in May).
