Whenever I think about the corporatization of academe, I get this image of the barnacle creatures chomping on the scientists in Half Life. That videogame is getting more and more realistic these days, as the US spirals into some awful vortex of rentier rot, history's revenge on this country for its Imperial sins. "The... University.. PA... system... is... now... under... military... command..."
