overwhelming majority of the working class support it. The vast majority of the military are working class. You do know that the Bolsheviks were based on workers', _sailors' and soldiers'_ soviets ?

Ok so if they had nukes and tanks rather than rifles and horses how many would have died what would have been the outcome?

CB: I forgot to add, ironically, we have the example of the SU as a nuclear power that changed fundamentally without any nuke nuts in the military trying to prevent. If we truly win the vast majority of Americans to our cause, it is possible.

The big task is winning the population that has been so saturated with anti-communism. It may have to be in a generation that has not been as brainwashed with anti-socialism as this one has. Again, ironically, this may be more feasible without the SU as the US main enemy.

Seems to me a profound crisis ( Enron to the fourth power and a variety of other problems) could turn Americans around faster than it seems now. The modern equivalent of the Great Depression would do wonders for mass anti-capitalist consciousness. With a decade of two of that, a Radical Labor-Feminist could win the Presidency, the Congress and the state legislatures.

Might help if a lot of nations around the world has socialist revolutions in the same period, especially Europe.
