Over at FreeRepublic.com, they are all excited because a liberal candidate plans to file as an independent in the New Hampshire US Senate race, which already promised to be one of the closest this fall and could easily decide which party controls the Senate.

Here's the posting--

Bad news for Shaheen: Condodemetraky to run for U.S. Senate as an Independent... Politicsnh, com | 3/9/2002 | politicsnh.com staff Posted on 3/10/02 1:09 PM Pacific by KQQL

Reliable sources tell PoliticsNH.com that George Condometraky, who ran in 1998 as a Democrat against U.S. Senator Judd Gregg (R-Rye), plans to file the necessary 3,000 signatures with the Secretary of State to qualify for the ballot as an Independent candidate for U.S. Senate. Condodemetraky is generally considered to be a liberal. In his 1998 U.S. Senate race, Condodemetraky received almost 89,000 votes. His entrance into the Granite State's hotly contested U.S. Senate race could create havoc for Governor Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury). Condodemetraky could do to Shaheen's candidacy what Ralph Nader did to Al Gore in Florida. (3/9/02)
