Russian chicken

I understand that it's crap,(at least I do now)  I just don't understand how
it's cheaper. Even our underpaid chicken plant workers would make a lot more
that Iranians, I would think.  Transport, especially during oil price spikes
must cost a lot.  I'm just wondering if the institutional/antibiotic farming
in US has extremely lower cost basis or if some other factors involved in
economics, like the US chicken is really from Indonesia or something.
