because most American Jews support a Jewish state and accept the need for some measure of realpolitik as the price for that, including alliances with obnoxious people;
and because those who don't accept such realpolitik have no power to dislodge the bourgeois zionist leadership.
you don't use the terminology "the Jews," but you seem to be referring to some unitary, conscious agency, where there is none.
