Query re NYC hotels

Perhaps someone more familiar with Manhattan than Jan or I can help us
here. We're attending the Socialist Scholars Conference and we made
reservations at the Union Square Inn 209 East 14th St. How near are we
to either (a) Cooper Union or (b) public transportation that will take
us to Cooper Union. Also if you have any information that we should have
about the hotel or the street location. Post me off list please if you
can help.
