Actually, no. The Zionists, including Likud, were ansd are secular and pretty much atheistic. The Jewish content of Zionist ideology is pretty much expressly nationalistic going back to Herzl, and has a strong racial or volkisch compenent. Witness: a totally secular atheist Jew like myself has a Right of Return. A religious and observant convert whose conversion was not approved by the Orthodox Rabbinate, or indeed a Jew raised in an observant household but not born of a Jewish mother, does not.
