thank you! i don't get the accusation in the first place and why it is a form of policing, but so we all police, so BFD. the reason i don't get the accusation is that the people that, from my view, seem most preoccupied are jewish people who seem to harbor a resentment toward the whole issue: joanna, jks, seth come readily to mind. doug forwards a lot of stuff, as he's especially interested in finklestein's work, but that's to be expected.
otherwise, i can't think of many exchanges in which the preoccupation hasn't largely been that off self-identified jewish people on the list who have a not unworthy preoccupation with denouncing israeli policies, etc.
FWIW, i largely agree with pradeep on this matter. the statement about a preoccupation with yids had no bearing on the conversation at all. and using it to dredge up some sort of creepy connection with the Nazis is pretty damn revolting. i find it equally revolting that middle class white guys can't deal with the anger of the very people they profess to be changing the world for. sitting around, pounding out niceties on keyboards and assuming the posture of the Great One Above It All and Beyond the Messiness of Righteous Anger is no less insult than saying "fuck you" or "fuck off".
pradeep, btw, is no more an anonymous wormhole than anyone else on this list. if you never said that you were employed at EPI and always used bellatlantic as your ISP you'd be just another wormhole max. but, alas, some people sit in positions and judge others and never consider the plight of others, where they might be coming from. so much for lefty concern for others.
