As a 12 yr. old in the Maryland 'burbs of D.C., in the summer of '73, I spent alot of time traipsing through the halls of the U.S. Congress. Met one of my Senators, the soon to be indicted, J. Glenn Beall(R.). On Beall desk was a bill to recognize, Matthew Henson, the 2nd Man to reach the North Pole. Henson was Black. Kind of figure that is featured in ads by R.J. Reynolds and Coors, in The Crisis, the magazine of the NAACP. Michael Pugliese
