Thai Provincial Elec Body Inks Loan Deal With JBIC
BANGKOK -(Dow Jones)- Thailand's Provincial Electricity Authority, or EPA,
Thursday said it has signed a loan agreement worth Y2.33 billion with the
Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
The loan, guaranteed by Thailand's Ministry of Finance, will help finance
the development of EPA's electricity stations and distribution system, the
government said in a statement.
The 25-year loan will carry an annual interest rate of 2.2%, with a
seven-year grace period on principal repayment.
Concurrently, the finance ministry has signed a financial cooperation
agreement with the Japanese government. Since 1968, Japan's government has
provided financial facilities worth a total Y1.89 trillion to Thailand.
