I am forwarding the link below to a site with photos from the Jenin Massacre. They are part of the evidence to refute the western lie that there was no massacre. But I have to warn you: these picture bring the Israeli "Defense" Force's barbaric violence of leveling a crowded neighborhood directly into one's face. So brace yourself for images of mangled bodies.
I found these images extremely disturbing, and I have an emotional reaction to them. But an emotional reaction is not enough.
These pictures are the face of the naked barbarism that the Israeli Defense Forces are willing to inflict to crush the Intifadeh. The US media constantly calls this a "tragedy." That is a lie. A "tragedy" is an when a car accident occurs, but genocide is what we are seeing here. This was no accident, but a premeditated crime.
This massacre is part and parcel of the attempt to destroy Palestine and quell forever the Palestinian resistence to Israel and a futile attempt to end an unstoppable revolution in the Mideast. The more futile the prospects of defeating the aspirations of the Palestinian people, the more barbaric the Israel Defense Forces are. And these photos make clear how low Israel, (which despite its democratic government is really a garrsion to maintain an apartheid state), will go to defend the narrow interests of a tiny economic elite to inflict a dictatorship of war and terror on Palestinians.
This massacre could never have occurred without decades of US support to Israel. And for what purpose does the US give these thousands of billions of dollars? Right-wing nationalists in the US talk of the "Israeli lobby," but the real fact is that Israel is doing the dirty work the US ruling elite wants Israel to do--not the other way around. The US wants to dominate the region and does with impunity. When Colin Powell mildly criticizes Isreal, he hides the US's actual role in this massacre. Where do the guns, helicopters, tanks, and decades of political support come from if not from primarily the US and its allies in Western Europe.
To equate suicide bombings to the wholesale destruction of refugee camps is totally wrong. These acts of political and military desparation to attack civilians speaks volumes about the position Palestinians are forced into. The Oslo Accords painted Palestine into this corner, aided and abetted by resignation of the PLO to accomodate Israel at all costs. It is a resignation to permanent misery for the masses of Palestinians. That resignation breeds desparation, a desparation to attack the most vulnerable on under Sharon or Rabin's rule.
