1. Is the comparison being drawn a valid comparison?

2. Even if it were, is it impertinent to ask whether the US would have entered the war if there had been no Pearl Harbour? What I gather of history had the Nazis seizing the bulk of Europe before the US entered into any action.

3. Did the left of the period -- meaning the left across the world -- support imperial America? Or is this all only about America, or perhaps Euro-America?

4. Has nothing happened in the intervening 50-60 years since?

5. Is it too much to ask: Which country has, in the last 50/60 years, overthrown, attacked, bombed, made war upon, used chemical weapons upon, caused more deaths, etc. in more (other) countries in the world than any other?

6. Might that not be in some way related to at least the ambivalence, if not outright opposition, to the war on Afghanistan?

Not to mention, of course, that Washington busily set up the mujahideen (jihad warriors) in business, helping them set up the international network of militants, from the US itself all the way to SE Asia. You didn't by any chance actively support the Soviet attempt to put them down?
