Chuck,
If it were possible to convince the working class of the U.S. (95%) of the
population that their long-term interests are not synchronous to those of
the U.S. bourgeoisie (5%), we could have a peaceful socialist revolution in
this country tomorrow.
Alas, the whole notion of a long-term has been wiped from public
consciousness; in fact, consciousness has been wiped from public
consciousness. I suspect it will take something like another economic
depression to change things.
Otherwise, of course, you're right.
