A report from ground zero: the "quite conservative" campus environment

Just for fun, I thought a might go back and attempt to classify the politics of every grad student/prof I've taken a course with at the University:

Poly Sci 111 (couldn't really get a read on the politics of either the professor or TA) German 101 (graduate student instructor studied Marxism and seemed to be a Marxist) Soc 102 (professor protested against the Gulf War) English 125 (TA was a mainstream lib. She really enjoyed my verbal evisceration of Ralph Nader.)

Philosophy 232 (prof was a moderate Dem and the TA was a libertarian) German 102 (TA didn't really talk about politics very much) English 225 (Prof was a mainstream lib. Had a piece from The Baffler in her coursepack) English 239 (prof didn't profess much of an interest in political matters)

Philosophy 361 (Not sure of Stephen's politics. The TA, though, was an ardent leftist who helped organize protests against the war in Afghanistan) Psychology 114 (Professor was a former member of the National Guard. Probably conservative) Honors Seminar 256 (Taught by a professor emeritus from the microbiology department. I have no idea what his politics are) German 231 (taught by the aforementioned German 102 instructor)

Philosophy 366 (TA seemed to be a left-liberal) English 270 (taught by my 239 prof) Psych 409 (The only political statement the TA ever made in my presence related to her opposition to the war in Afghanistan) Philosophy 383 (The only political statement the instructor ever made in my presence related to her opposition to the privatization of government services in her native New Zealand) Stats 350 (no clue) Russian 356 (don't know)

I'm sure the results would've looked different if I'd simply classified everyone as an apologist for capitalism.
