Israel's right to exist

Hmm - in the (very) abstact I would say that the sooner the nation state is eliminated, the better - provided we don't eliminate the nation state, but leave capitalism out there with private armies and not even the melioration of nation-state social spending.

But I really hate to wait for this to occur before ending the oppression of Palesinians by Israelis. In short questioning the right of Israel to exist is not helpful in this battle. Nor is offering to buy out Israelis. This is the mirror image of what some Israelis have suggested be done to palestinians - an ethnic cleansing, possibly with a token compensation. And the Israeli version is a lot more likely than the reverse.

Oppressors always fear reaping what they have sown - advocating something that will play to this fear is not helpful. In point of fact, at least prior to the Israeli outrages of the past six months, a majority of palestinians recognized that recongizing both Israels right to exist in pre-67 borders, and the right of Palestine to exist in the remaining 22% was the only basis for peace. The immediate demand (not that it will happen immediately) is that Israel withdraw all troops and settlers NOW to the other side of the Green line.
