CB: If true , it would mean that the U.S. terrorist attacks on Afghanistan had begotten a retaliation , just as Sept. 11 was a retaliation for earlier U.S. terrorism and warmaking.

U.S. Intercepting Messages Hinting at a New Attack

Vague signals from Al Qaeda operatives over the last few months indicate that an operation as big as or bigger than the Sept. 11 attacks is being planned, according to intelligence and law enforcement officials.

But these intercepted messages are so general that they have left President Bush and his counterterrorism team in the dark about the time, place or method of what some officials refer to as a second-wave attack.
