[apologies for the length, but excellent people on a largely forgotten issue] National Health Insurance Liberal Benefits, Conservative Spending Steffie Woolhandler, MD, MPH; David U. Himmelstein, MD

forgotten by whom?

didn't maine legislature pass and and gov. angus king (an 'independent' if memory serves) sign legislation for single-payer health care coverage in that state?...wasn't there supposed to be single payer ballot issue in ohio?..similar effort here in florida has, admittedly, not gone well but 65% of gainesville voters voted yes in straw ballot re. nhi...orlando living wage folks (mostly union and religious) are keenly aware of issue...of course, these are mostly conservative locales off 'activist' and 'leftist' radar screens... michael hoover

ps: speaking of g-ville, redstockings women published book recently on nhi...
