the calendars of events in local alternative weeklies, flyers posted at cafes, coops, college dorms, libraries, churches, stores owned by like-minded individuals, etc.) so that at least more than 100 people will come to the showing; and explain the cost to the audience and ask for donations at the showing.  You can break even -- I did when I showed _Lumumba_ at OSU.
(3)  Post information about the video to local political listservs, explain that your next project is to host a public showing of thevideo in town, and ask for help.  Some will volunteer to cover the cost for you.  I posted info about _Occupation 101_ to local 
political listservs and asked for help; several Arab Americans wrote me that they will foot the bill.
P.S.  If you get enough backing from local activists and/or institutions, you can even raise enough funds to bring in the film-maker.
