In the U.S. most oppressed people - poor people, blacks, latino, etc. boycott the elections. The faith in the democratic party held by Nathan has nothing to do with stupidity or cowardice but with the fact that he still partially thinks within a bourgeois paradigm that supports representative "democracy" and working within the system.
