It came on a little late, but Chomsky handled himself pretty well and
Bill Bennett as expected hurled lies and slanders and asked a couple
of times why Chomsky lives in the U.S. Paula Zahn ended by
suggesting that people go out and buy both books and make
up their own minds which drew a smile from Chomsky.
She opened up the segment with a quote from his book
which said he in no way condoned the 911 attacks
so good for her and the corporate media. Chomsky
referred to the opening quote after Bennett suggested
he did say in the book that the US deserved it.
I would be interested to hear what Chomsky thought.
The significance is that his book is selling so well
that Bennett felt it necessary to "debate" him and
CNN felt it okay to put him on, on this somber final
day of the recovery efforts at ground zero.
