but "playing to the crowd" would be very un-chomsky like. infact that is prob his most admirable trait IMO

i've never interpreted anything he said as being critical of the behavior of the american populace.....but quite the opposite and he shouldn't pander to any misrepresentation of his views. start doing that and one is on the road to internalizing say the "consensus" opinion which is most often manipulated for the services of power. if that is not a near universal truism then there aren't any.
