With ANSWER demos and the like, which were recently in his sights, how
about inquiring on Orwell's views on the most effective means of dealing
with cranks on the Left.  Orwell had several chapters on this in The Road
To Wigan Pier:

At one point Orwell said, similar to Liza and others, to flood the ranks
of the Left and drown out the cranks.  Orwell suggested humanizing the
opposition, not abandoning it.
