I'm guessing you wouldn't pay $10 for vegetarian chili at Safeway, something you - horrifyingly - can do at our local Whole Foods. They must strangle that tempeh by hand.

The onle next to me has a mixed workforce, African and European American. Ditto for the clientele. The prices are not that much higher than in Safeway, but the quality and service are. SOme items, such as cheeses (which I enjoy) are actually cheaper than in Safeway.

Giant (MD and PA chain) is a big union buster, and they brag about it in the propaganda they distruibute to their employees.
