PATRIOTIC and ANTIWAR: Mutually exclusive? Wednesday, November 20, 2002 7:00 PM 2050 Valley Life Sciences Building (VLSB) UC Berkeley campus
Does being antiwar mean you aren't patriotic? Does being a patriot mean you have to support the war? The Cal Libertarians say no -- there are hawks and doves all over the political spectrum.
JUSTIN RAIMONDO, editorial director of www.antiwar.com , and Senior Fellow of the Center for Libertarian Studies, will discuss the greater implications of the present war on U.S. foreign and domestic policy, and why he considers an antiwar position to be patriotic. He will include in his talk reasons why the antiwar movement suffers from its own rhetorical and ideological platform.
Whether you consider yourself a patriot or you're opposed to the war for different reasons, come to our event and listen to some rarely heard arguments about America's involvement overseas.
