sorry for the regional focus. the people who seem to write here a lot tend to be located in the Ny and SF poles, to some extent. Anyway, I told this guy in the cal libertarians that I'd help promote their Justin Raimondo speaking event. If you teach around UC Berkeley or SF, or know of any right wingers, try to send them over. I already have my own question developed. UC Berkeley has a pretty large, aggressive and media savvy group of young republicans. They've gotten on Fox News a couple of times at least with stories they leaked to the press via David Horowitz, sometimes 100% made up, like saying that Berkeley had banned the star spangled banner and the flag at a 9/11 memorial. on another note, here are my pictures of the crazy Phelps family antigay picketing the UC football game yesterday. yes, anyone who would bother to show up is a gullible freak-magnet, but I couldnt resist. Note their antiamerican signs and stomping on the american flag: http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/11/1543509.php ------ Cal Libertarians present...

PATRIOTIC and ANTIWAR: Mutually exclusive? Wednesday, November 20, 2002 7:00 PM 2050 Valley Life Sciences Building (VLSB) UC Berkeley campus

Does being antiwar mean you aren't patriotic? Does being a patriot mean you have to support the war? The Cal Libertarians say no -- there are hawks and doves all over the political spectrum.

JUSTIN RAIMONDO, editorial director of www.antiwar.com , and Senior Fellow of the Center for Libertarian Studies, will discuss the greater implications of the present war on U.S. foreign and domestic policy, and why he considers an antiwar position to be patriotic. He will include in his talk reasons why the antiwar movement suffers from its own rhetorical and ideological platform.

Whether you consider yourself a patriot or you're opposed to the war for different reasons, come to our event and listen to some rarely heard arguments about America's involvement overseas.

Please forward to interested individuals and groups
