Senate passes Homeland Security

And that is only the beginning. Within the next six years (the duration of Bush presidency), this country will be brought back to the 19th century in terms of labor laws, environmental protection, and civil libertities - and I am willing to bet a beer on that.

But I have an insurance policy when things start going really rough - a one way ticket (actually a round trip to pass through Ashcroft's security apparatus unharassed) to Europe, my still valid dual citizenship, and my line of credit to finance the exodus. I suggest anyone with brains on this list arrange for the same. This country is a one-way street with right turns only - no change is possible unless things start going really bad, but before that happens most people on this list will be detained by Ashcroft's securitat and sentenced by the GEheime STAats COurt already in operation - so exit seem like the smartest thing lefties can do.

For one thing, I will not be like those Jews who stayed in Germany after 1930 hoping that Germans were, after all, a civilised people.
