"Floyd Norris had a nice piece in the Times today pointing
out that Northern vs. Southern California World Series
(previous two were both A's vs. Dodgers, in '74 and '88)
always seem to arrive (if you can call three a trend) when
the market is down. The good news? The market soon rallies
(the time to really get worried, I think, would be a Red
Sox vs. Cubs scenario--we could be talking about Dow 3,600
realistically at that point)."
