August 22, 2002 SUPPORT GRISSINOPOLI BUY THEIR GRISINES (breadsticks) This Friday August 23, 2002, the bakery Grissinopoli will begin once again to function under control of its employees, in the face of the imminent resolution of the Judge Norma Beatriz Di Noto, sitting for the Commercial Court No. 15, to hand the factory over to a financial group that would pretend to put the bakery in production in order to actually cover up speculative dealings that would lead to its being closed down and to the permanent loss of all jobs. The workers at this breadstick factory have been occupying the plant since early June, after the factory was looted by its owners and wages left unpaid for nine months. Due to the threat of possible eviction, the workers of Grissinópoli have decided to start production of 500 boxes of breadsticks, starting tomorrow Friday 23. However because of their precarious legal situation, they need the support of the Assemblies and of the community in order to directly sell their production, the only way they have for the moment of being able to acquire the supplies necessary to keep production going. It is for this reason that we CALL ON THE ASSEMBLIES, COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHENS, SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS, WORKERS OF OTHER OCCUPIED FACTORIES AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE, TO SUPPORT THE GRISSINOPOLI STRUGGLE THROUGH THE PURCHASE OF THE BREADSTICKS THAT THEY MANUFACTURE THEMSELVES. THINK OF FRIENDS, ACQUAINTENCES, CONTACTS WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO BUY A BOX OR TWO. EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS. The address of the factory is Charlone 55 (one block from Cordoba and Dorrego) and the telephone is 15-4099-0279 (International call from US: 011 54 4099-0279) Commission of solidarity with the struggle of the workers of Grissinópoli, Buenos Aires, Argentina NO TO THE CLOSING OF THE FACTORY GRISSINOPOLI _______________________________________________ syndicalists mailing list syndicalists at anarchosyndicalism.org http://www.anarchosyndicalism.org/mailman/listinfo/syndicalists

"PATRIOTISM, n. 1) The inability to distinguish between the government and one's "country"; 2) A highly praiseworthy virtue characterized by the desire to dominate and kill; 3) A feeling of exultation experienced when contemplating heaps of charred "enemy" corpses; 4) The first, last, and perennial refuge of scoundrels.
PATRIOT, n. A dangerous tool of the powers that be. A herd member who compensates for lack of self-respect by indentifying with an abstraction. An enemy of individual freedom. A fancier of the rich, satisfying flavor of boot leather." -- from The American Heretic's Dictionary
