Washington -- The Bush administration has
appointed to its domestic-violence advisory
committee two representatives of a group adamantly
opposed to the law the committee oversees.
Without any announcement, Attorney General John
Ashcroft last week named Nancy Pfotenhauer,
president of the Independent Women's Forum, to the
National Advisory Committee on Violence Against
Women. He also named to the committee one of the
forum's national advisory board members, Boston
police Detective Margot Hill.
